A classic symptom of bowel cancer is visible or hidden <strong>blood in the stool<\/strong>, which can be detected using a <strong>haemoccult test<\/strong>. Other non-specific symptoms include <strong>bloating<\/strong>, <strong>fatigue<\/strong>, <strong>weight loss<\/strong>, <strong>night sweats<\/strong>, <strong>fever,<\/strong> and anaemia (low <strong>haemoglobin levels<\/strong>).   <\/p>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                            <\/div>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n class=\"ce-textblock__text\">\n                            <h2 class=\"\"> Diagnostics <\/h2>\n                <p>At the University Clinic for Surgery in Salzburg, we ensure a pain-free diagnosis of colon cancer with the help of <strong>&#8220;gentle colonoscopy&#8221;:<\/strong> thanks to premedication <strong>(short anesthesia)<\/strong>, patients experience <strong>minimal discomfort<\/strong> during the procedure.<\/p>\n<p>To complement the examination, we carry out a computer tomography of the abdominal and thoracic cavities, as colon carcinoma has often already <strong> metastasized<\/strong> by the time of diagnosis.
