The pancreas<\/strong> is the metabolic and digestive gland of the human body and a very sensitive organ. Symptoms of pancreatic cancer <\/h2>\n

Pancreatic cancer initially causes few or only very late symptoms. Diagnostics <\/h2>\n

In addition to high-resolution ultrasound<\/strong>, spiral computed tomography<\/strong> (CT) and thin-layer magnetic resonance imaging<\/strong> (MRI).<\/p>\n

Endosonography <\/strong>is a new milestone in diagnostics. At the University Clinic for Surgery in Salzburg, we perform an ultrasound of the pancreas via the stomach, similar to a gastroscopy, using a high-tech mini ultrasound probe.<\/strong> As the stomach is directly adjacent to the pancreas, precise findings can be made here about the type of change.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n

Treatment of pancreatic cancer <\/h2>\n

In the treatment of pancreatic cancer, surgery is performed in cases of doubt<\/strong> and the affected area is removed in accordance with global standards. Surgery is only indicated if the tumor has not<\/strong> yet metastasized<\/strong> to neighboring organs. Wherever possible, minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures <\/strong>are used to perform the operation as gently as possible.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n

The NanoKnife uses electrical impulses<\/strong> of up to several thousand volts to destroy the affected tumor tissue. In contrast to other methods, the surrounding healthy tissue is not damaged<\/strong>.
