Your specialist for peritoneal carcinomatosis.
“We never give up on anyone, ever.” This has probably also become the guiding principle of our interdisciplinary team, which has set itself the goal of ensuring the best possible quality of life for our patients suffering from peritoneal carcinomatosis. Personally, I am one of the most internationally recognized specialists in peritoneal carcinomatosis.
Treatment
When a tumor invades the peritoneum or metastasizes to it, this is known as peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC). The treatment of this serious disease depends on the site of origin and type of tumor (carcinoma), but can now be successfully performed in many cases. Here too, multimodal approaches are essential, including surgery to remove the tumor foci in the abdominal or lung cavity, which remains a crucial component of treatment.
Innovative processes
HIPEC and PIPAC therapy are used in this context. Depending on the tumor entity, they extend local chemotherapy by introducing liquid or AEROSOL agents into the abdominal or lung cavity during surgery.
